Snap a photo, ask, and it's gone: instant mode for documents on the go

Not every document arrives as a tidy PDF. A receipt on the table, a letter from the tax office, one page of a contract you were just handed. Now you can photograph it with your phone, ask about it immediately, and, if you want, have everything erased the moment you are done.

Take a photo instead of scanning

On your phone, the new "Take a photo" button opens the camera directly. Take the picture, and the upload starts on its own. The AI reads the text from the image (it works with photos of paper, screens and printouts) and you can chat with it exactly like with a PDF: What is the total? When is the deadline? What am I agreeing to here? On a computer the same button lets you pick an image file.

Instant mode: nothing stays behind

Some documents you only need for one question. For those there is instant mode: tick it before uploading and DeinPDF erases the file, its search index and the chat automatically as soon as

• you click "Done, delete now",
• you log out, or
• you go a while without asking anything.

You then get a clear confirmation: your document was erased completely; no data is stored anymore. This is not a hidden retention window and not a "soft delete", the source file, the vectors and the database entry are all gone.

Why we built it this way

Good to know

• Photos are read with the vision model, which costs a little more per page than a text PDF; you see the price up front for large uploads, and one receipt or letter costs cents.
• Instant mode is optional. Leave it off and your document stays in your library until you delete it yourself.
• Everything works in the browser, on any phone, without installing an app.
